Technical University Munich (Technische Universität München – TUM) scored a very high 105 place in the Times Higher Education World Ranking 2012-2013, with the 34 position in Europe. TUM was one of the first universities in Germany to be named a University of Excellence.
It is the 4th top research university in Europe according to the list complied by the European Commission as part of the Third European Report on Science & Technology Indicators, preceded only by Cambridge, Oxford and Eindhoven.
TUM’s campus is mainly located in Munich, but there are divisions located in Garching, Weihenstephan, Straubing and most importantly Singapore, where it is partnered with the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University, both respectable renowned facilities on their own.
