HEC Paris (Hautes études commerciales de Paris) is one of the most prominent business schools in Europe. The school was founed in 1881 by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry as grandes école focused on training future business leaders of France and Europe. HEC offers Grande Ecole programme (MSc in Management), several specialized Masters degrees (eg. Master in International Finance, Public Policy, Strategic Management), MBA, and PhD programs. The uniqnuess of the school comes from the stress put on using case method in teaching, and research as well as its very close links the corporate world. The motto of the school is “The more you know, the more you dare”.

HEC Paris has been ranked for several years as #1 business school in Europe by the Financial Times. With regards to the number of CEOs of Fortune Global 500 companies, HEC ranks as the 4th higher education institution in the world, and the 1st in Europe.

The HEC Paris Alumni network is among the largest, and most active in Europe (organizes over 1,000 events each year). Among HEC Alumni are: François Hollande (President of the French Republic), Dominique Strauss-Kahn ( former Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund), Pascal Lamy (Director-General, World Trade Organization), Louis Gallois (CEO of EADS), and Roland Garros (aviator).
